Description:
The HR Generalist is responsible for administering structure to support high service, high quality Human Resources function. Specific responsibilities include employee relations, management support and counseling, recruiting, hiring, new hire orientation, benefits communications, communicating policies and procedures.
Duties:
• Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing; refers issues to Call Center Director and HR Director as needed.
• Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their employee relations responsibilities.
• Conducts recruitment efforts including obtaining updated job descriptions and salary ranges, writes and places advertisements, develops a candidate pool, coordinates interviews, evaluates candidates with hiring managers.
• Conducts new hire orientation sessions.
• Understand Company benefit programs and works with Benefits function to maintain quality benefits.
• Is knowledgeable about our employee handbook; communicates changes in policies and procedures and insures proper compliance is followed.
• Administers various human resources plans and procedures for employees; assists in implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
• Makes recommendations to improve policies, procedures and practices on employee matters.
• Insures compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
• Assists with performance evaluation program.
• Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
• 3-5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Reference-able background in Human Resources department with generalist responsibilities.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Must have high energy, positive approach and ability to drive programs to completion with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to identify problems, seek resources for guidance, analyze resolutions, and communicate and/or implement resolutions.
• Must be able to pro-actively plan and manage time to achieve balance between being responsive to associate problems and moving along HR programs.
• Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
• Working knowledge of PCs and standard word-processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and presentation software applications (Microsoft Office)
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification a plus.
